Never said there was. My point was that watching something in a language you know will give you a more immersive experience. You can detect tone, intention ,inflection, understad jokes better.
Here's an example: People often rag on about Osaka's voice in the dub, how they think it sounds really weird and outstanding. What they don't understand is that her voice is meant to be strange and different to the rest of the cast, as that's a part of her character. The reason people miss this fact is because changing the subs to a southern drawl every now and then doesn't show how different it is. People who speak Japanese can hear it, but most native speakers can't.

not the person who you were talking to, but i honestly feel uncomfortable when listening to dubs, especially when i'm used to watching the subbed version of that anime. plus the voice acting just feels off for some reason.

There are some shows that just don't work as dubs, there are some that do.
And yeah, especially if you've already seen the subbed version, it will feel off.
