Is buying Amazon land a good investment?
I can get properties near rivers for $0,33/m2. By dividing Earth's area by the human population, we find that each person got about 70m2, by investing something like $5000, I would be part of the 1% that owns a shit ton of good land.
What /biz/ thinks about my strategy?
Seems like it could work. Only problem is that it wouldn't make you any money until some company offers to buy it at a significantly higher price than you got it for, which isn't likely for another 10-15 years.
No idea about the investment part, but owning part of the Amazon would be pretty cool.
Then you and Ice Cube can catch giant Anacondas.

>By dividing Earth's area by the human population, we find that each person got about 70m2
148,940,000 km2 / 7,386,647,689 = 0.0202 Km2
0.0202 Km2 = 20200 m2 pr person
Dude you cant do a simple calculation and you want to buy land in a foreign country :^)

Americans can't own land pretty much anywhere else.
Though you can own land in the US without being a citizen. Why?
>>992021
Area: 510.100.000.000 m2
Population: 7,386,647,689
Total: 69.05703662564378m2/person
Are you even trying? And yes, I am using the total area, because who knows when artificial islands will be common.
Also,
>0.0202 Km2 = 20200 m2 pr person
Top kek, why are you in /biz/ if you don't know basic arithmetics?
>>992022
It is not easy to own land in the US without being a citizen, and it is not easy to own land in most countries without being a citizen as well.
My mother is Brazilian, so things are easier for me.
>>992027
>using total area like a cûck
U cant be srs?
>Top kek, why are you in /biz/ if you don't know basic arithmetics?
The irony

Posting in a Riley thread for good luck.
Riley is OP. OP is Riley. If you don't know who Riley is, then gtfo

When did he stop lecturing Europeans about their backwards healthcare and stop dabbling in the world of dirt.
Also what happened to his band?

0.0202 km2 equals 20.2m2, not 20200, little autistic fuck.
Also, we already have the technology to create islands, so it is a matter of time before countries start selling pieces of the ocean. If I was to take into account only the current land mass, I would be left with with less than 21m2 for each person, which would make the investment look even more promissing, but again, I opted to be pessimistic instead.
>>992096
0.0202 km2 is 20200 m2 mate look it up
>>992102
I was sure that 1km2=1000m2...
Fuck the metric system.
better investment than AMZN

How about buying a shitload and selling lots off to smug investors. Market it as being able to invest in saving the planet because you buy the land and it remains rainforest. Set up a rainforest real estate company and resell that shit for heaps of profit.
Good idea, but there is no gurantee that some illegal logging or mining company, or Dago farmer, won't flatten/inundate/pollute/erode your land while you're living halfway around the world.
But if you're doing it, go big, plant some injun artefacts there (not wampum ffs, local artefacts) and say it's an archaeological site. Petition for international protection and/or register it as a carbon sink.

More like 30-60 years. Until then the land could depreciate modestly and/or be impossible to sell.
It's probably a bad idea unless you're buying the property to retire at.
>>991967
It's not as easy as you think. In Perú exits some laws to take care the amazon.
>>992131
Good point!

If I had enough money, I can see how something like that could work:
1-) Buy 375000m2 for $10600.
2-) Pay $100 for an Indian designer to make my "save the world company".
3-) Turn it into a charity.
4-) Company sells one square meter of virgin rainforest for $1 - so cheap that even smug kids can afford it.
5-) $10500 becomes $375000.
6-) Rinse and repeat.
>>992340
What if I allow some poor locals to live and plant there in exchange for a percentage of the crops? They would have a vested interest in keeping it well.
>>992846
I could still try to market the "save the rainforest idea", no?
>>992956
This is a good idea i might do it

Of course, faggots are already doing it.

Make it $1 a year subscription
So you can hire rangers to protect it for 10k a year
