I'm about to receive a Subsidized loan of $1,750, plus another $100 because my grant for school was larger than needed.
What should I do with this $1,850?
Summer courses? Gold? Stocks? Air Jordans? Let /biz/ be my guide.
The chances of you getting a return on an investment more than the rate you'll be paying on the loans is slim. You have any other student loans? You should be responsible with the money and pay towards loans that are accruing interest since Uncle Sam is covering the interest on this one right now.

This is my first student loan, I have some CC debt but my tax return will take care of it.

you should obviously pay off your credit card debt then. Regardless if you're tax return will pay it off you'll still have a month or two of absurd interest. Then use your tax return for whatever you want. Even though getting a tax return is bullshit that uneducated people think is great.
Put it all on Leicester to beat Chelsea

Would it be a good idea to use a subsidized loan to pay off a credit card?

Not the worst idea, especially if you have a few more years in school. Subsidized loans don't accrue interest while you're a full time student so you'd be saving yourself from paying the CC interest.
