Is actuary a good career move?
Anyone here who is an actual actuary or trying to be one?
How hard is it to become one? And how hard is the job afterwards? Is there a lot of uncertainty or stress that can cause anxiety?
Also, is it better than accounting?

If you like doing lots and lots of math and earning pretty good money then yes

Accountant here. Actuary pays better, however a much more challenging courses. Hope you love math. Accounting has more job possibilities in any industry. You can pretty much get any high level corporate job with the right connections and work experience. Go to college, get CPA, Work Big 4 for three years, become CFO of smaller company.

Actuary is very challenging. This is strictly math and making estimates. You will be working closely with an accountant on some projects. These are very complex equations that are not easy to understand and are always changing.

Actuary is a great career.

I'm a fully credentialed actuary here in the US.

The exam process is long and can be demoralizing because they are some of the hardest exams out there. The job has its challenges but it's not high pressure and work life balance is great.

I have never tried accounting but I'm happy with the career choice I made. I wouldn't want to be an accountant.

so should I major in finance and minor in economics, or major in accounting and minor in finance?
I wonder what would give me more career paths.
