I have a lot of rich acquaintances, although I myself am rather poor. One just asked me to find them a project to invest 10 to 30 million in, and I will get a large sum to start my investment future. Any suggestions?

That's a fair amount of capital what kind of returns are they looking for?

Damn, those clouds... A goat and a fox ready to embrace each other which will turn into hot sex. The teapot underneath them resembles the warmth, cozyness and joy of their relationship. Only to fade away as the climate changes and the clouds dissolve when they turn into raindrops.

Why would someone worth $30million+ ask you for advice? What are your credentials and qualifications?

Flake deals like these show up in the oil business all the time. They are generally used to get you to pay for an expensive meal to be eaten by the person who knows the person wit all the money.

Pro tip: When approached on these sorts of deals say you're willing to sign a confidentiality agreement with the principal and ask for $50,000 up front against your "commission" for putting a deal together.

They won't bother you anymore.

This post reeks of bullshit.

>I myself am rather poor

Would you ask a homeless person advice about the housing market?

>I will get a large sum to start my investment future
sdf;hlmfsdgfd

You have a leechy vibe. I don't just mean towards your "acquaintances". You come here asking /biz/ for a bucket of gold in exchange for a tub of bullshit.

Next time you go asking for advice, don't give the people you are asking the impression that they are wasting their time and good advice on someone who will probably piss both away.

>I myself am rather poor.
I would never waste my time on someone who would immediately say some shit like that to me. Within the fist sentence you separate yourself from the people you want to join.

Fuck dude at least highlight the good values you have that line up with theirs. Focus on giving the impression that you have the qualities that most self made people had, before the wealth. But only the stuff that contributed to their gains.

If an investor was going to invest in a person what kind of person would they invest in?

>Never mention being or having been poor until you aren't poor.
If people view you as identifying with poverty, they will either feel sorry for you or see you as a liability.

But to answer your original question.
>Use internet, groups and meetups to find and compile a list of startups
>Compare and see which ones follows the guidelines of Eric Ries and Peter Thiel and Jim Collins
>Do some more research and comparison against somewhat-recently actually funded startups
>Run the numbers and show the potential upside relative to the cost of investment.
>Most investors want to make multiples of their investment. Show this likelyhood

Collect a reasonable fee if the deal goes through. You could also do the reverse and find potential investors for promising companies.

Weed guy is right. Investors are working on getting legislation through in Maryland, when it's legalized there the weed business is going to explode in Baltimore.
