I miss old /biz/

On topic just a few BTC, honestly. I have slight interest in Litecoin, Ethereum and Monero if it gets more volume. I have tons of doge but I don't see that going anywhere.

XMR - BTC - DGB

i can't see how ethereum even has a chance ,it's like vhs and Betamax ,Betamax was superior but vhs still won.

Bitcoin is the only digital currency that is sort of mainstream,I just can't see how ethereum can dethrone it,nobody knows what the fuck an ether is.

>What are you holding?
BTC, the only crypto that has ever been worth holding and will ever be worth holding
>>
>holding

Isn't the point of a currency to use it?
>>
>>971943
Bitcoin is more like Edison's DC power. Ethereum is teslas Alternating current.

The Ethereum virtual machine is already more powerful than the Bitcoin network.
>>
ETH.
>>

THe thing about technology is it keeps changing every month, if we stray away from bitcoin then it will be and endless movement changing currencies all the time.

THe investments put into bitcoin lol won't allow that.
>>
I'm so out of the loop but what makes XMR and ETH so special?
>>
>>972651
No meems yet.
>>
>>972651

I'm holding Bitcoin. I never want to use or sell this shit because I am a retard. I don't want Bitcoin to actually be useful and I am waiting for more people to realize that Bitcoin isn't actually used much so that the price goes down even more and I lose even more money. I love losing money because I am a dumbfuck.

I saw a thing on 60 Minutes about Kenya using mobile devices as a sort of wallet/bank called M Pesa. They would give cash to a cashier and receive the M Pesa currency on their phones. Is this not very similar to crypto currency? Except it's actually backed by "normal" money.

In countries where banks operate you can send cash digitally with a text already so there's no point to have something like that here. So my second question is what is the point of crypto currency?

this
there's this guy making like 3 ETH pump threads a day. ETH hasn't even gotten above the initial pump value ever since it came into existence

Bitcoin is like a p2p version. It solved the problem of being able to transmit value without having a central authority. It's also cheaper than mpesa.
>>
>>972703
$5/ ETH soon.
>>
>>972923
source?
>>
>>972703

That's completely false, presale was $0.30/eth and it's almost triple that now
>>
>>972727
Not having a central authority is a huge flaw. Yes, it allows you to evade taxes easier, but it makes it impossible to have a fixed or stable price which makes it worthless as a currency.
>>
>>972923
im going for 10$
>>
>>973020
Central banks don't do tax investigations. You idiot.
>>
>>973211
