How much would you need to have to saefly buy an 8 - 10 million dollar house ?
>>
>>1384770
why the fuck would you ever buy thatEVER

if i had enough to buy that i would buy a 400k house and be happy with my monies
>>
>>1384774
Well first of all I live in LA and 400k houses don't exist and secondly it's a hypothetical question
>>
>>1384780
move to a different state son
>>
>>1384770
$1M a year.
>>
>>1384780
Why the fuck do you need to live in LA?
>>
>>1384812
I'm a director and it's where the studios are
>>
>>1384817
Then you shouldn't have any problems with money.
>>
>>1384820
>every director makes 20 million a picture

yeah i'm not Nolan buddy
>>
>>1384821
Why don't you just get a different job somewhere cheaper then?
>>
>>1384822
I'm not complaining about being underpaid i'm asking how much you would need to safely buy a 10 million dollar house
>>
>>1384825
$10 million.
>>
>>1384770

one of our clients has a house that cost them $9.5m

the carrying costs are:
-taxes are $90,000 per year
-insurance is roughly $15-20,000 per year
-maintenance is $50,000 per year
>>
>>1384830

but to answer the question - probably $15m

$10m for the house and the other $5m could get you an easy $150,000 or $200,000 in after tax yield, which would cover the annual expenses of the house.
>>

>>1384825

Depends on your annual cash flow. I don't suppose you mean purchase it in cash?
>>
>>1384770
Dear lord OP, I feel sorry for you. This thread is full of man babies.

I'm not sure if you're asking about income or liquid cash.

Liquid cash, i would not do it unless I had 12m, at the bare minimum.

In saying that, i'd never spend so much on a house. I live in Australia, and it's just as bad as LA, if not worse. I earn about $2m/year and I just bought a house for about 600k, which is about as cheap as you can get.
>>
>>1384770
$80-100
i wouldn't put more than 10% of my wealth into a home.
