What's the shortest period of time you can stay at a job without it looking suspicious on future resumes?

Major company - at least 1 year
Medium sized companies - half a year
Small unknowns - 1-2 months
Mac jobs - no one cares

If it is the service industry, then 1 year (or 6 months if you really hate it). People like to see these numbers instead of 7 months. Reason being that temp contracts are usually for 3/6/9 months or a year. Quitting any other time might set off alarm bells.
I am a formal placement officer from a recruitment agency if that is relevant.
P. S. If you really hate the job then just leave though
