One guy says "this stock is going to the moon" and then two guys are saying it and then three more guys are saying it.
Before you know it you've taken a third mortgage on your house to buy thousands of shares in some stock just because you've absorbed the idea that it will be successful through cultural osmosis.
Then when it crashes you hang yourself, because that's the most memetic response. But the rope snaps and you just cry until your mother finds you.
