Holy shit! How much of a failure in life do you have to be to spend thousands of dollars to learn how to use Excel? Not only did you fail at your passions, you failed at anything academic, such as becoming an engineer or software programmer. Inb4 "muh stable job."
>mfw you get laid off

OP is butt blasted that he dropped out of an accounting program top kek.

So you just got replaced by someone with an accounting degree?

Projecting? Silly accountant. I guess you wouldn't know much about logical fallacies, however, since your entire workday consists of plugging numbers into a calculator.

It's such a shame that you're so disappointed in your life that you've delved into attacking others through petty assumptions. It's not too late for you, however. You can still become something, or at least become a NEET if you literally can't do anything else.

Go ahead and describe why someone would choose to be an accountant over an engineer for any reason other than inability to perform the tasks associated.
>>
>>1377241
because they enjoy accounting

The accountants that I know are respected highly-paid professionals who advise companies and high-net worth individuals. They have a broad range of skills and services, everything from financial planning, tax advice, investment strategies, and contingency planning. They uniquely combine some of the skill sets from lawyers, financial planners, investment bankers, and business consultants. They are highly-respected among their peer-group of white-collar professionals.

The engineers that I know are mid-level functionaries. They fill a need, but they're merely salaried cogs in a wheel. They'll never be given management responsibility or even enter the executive suite. It's an honest trade, but hardly worthy of respect or admiration. Their peers are other company grunts, like factory managers and logistics specialists.

simply false

Who in the world enjoys accounting?
>>
>>1377333
Accountants, I'm sure many of them wouldn't understand what people enjoy about engineering. Different people enjoy different things. Crazy, huh?
>>
>>1377340
Engineers don't enjoy their jobs either, but at least they get paid well.
>>
>>1377311
Yeah accounting has a very high satisfaction rate.

That and the path to being an executive is much more straightforward if you're into that kind of thing.

ALSO being able to interpret a businesses financials is built into the profession.

Every business owner must understand their own books. Any entrepreneur who doesn't know his own numbers will get cucked hard and long by someone auditing firm, the government, or Wall Street. Enjoy staying poor STEM wageslave

Accountants are failures in the eyes of actuaries.

Totally different jobs.

OP some people have personalities where they enjoy boring shit.

Some people just enjoy accounting, I have a cousin who is one and she loves her job.

Hell, latelly I've found to start watching my congress tv transmissions, shit's boring as fuck, but it seems when you're an adult you stop enjoying child entertainment and just need some boring shit with full responsabilities.

It's called to being an adult.

not shitting on accounting here. but many people with STEM backgrounds become management or ceos, STEM does not kill entrepreneurship opportunities. Michael bloomberg, jack welch, bob lutz, henry ford, edison, bill gates, steve ballmer.

>founders of technology companies have technology backgrounds
Fucking duh.

Tell you what .. you go found the next Microsoft, then I'll be impressed. Until then, your engineering degree puts you one step BEHIND the IT monkeys.
>>

What you're describing is creating a unicorn, which is a fine dream but unlikely.

If you're an engineer you'll most likely be a very well paid wage slave.

Same goes for accountants, but accountants have a much easier path into the mastery of business. Far far more executives are accountants with finance training than engineers.

Somewhat unrelated but how the hell do I renegotiate my compensation after being hired on after interning?
