Studying Computer Engineering, after experience I want to get into freelancing? Is there a market for freelance Computer Engineers? Having trouble finding info.

there isnt a market for computer engineers so long as they keep using rusty fucking tools like the guy in the pic

Ehh not really. Reality is that its expensive, especially if you want to make things beyond simple circuits. For that, you're going to need a team of people to work on big projects, and financial backing. Unless you just want to set up networks/servers in africa, then if the pay is gonna be shit but I guess its not so much about the pay at that point.
That's not a computer engineer. It's just a guy who looks like he's about to electrocute himself.

No, best you can do is consulting, you need a lot of experience under your belt though before anybody will give a shot about things you say.

Perhaps you didn't notice that he's poking around a power supply. I'm not saying he's gonna kill himself that way but he could sure as hell get a shock.

everything moves so fast that what you are probably studying now will be unusable the next years

Check out gun.io. As in "hired gun." Decent site for freelancing CS types. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it's better than the shit advice these faggots are providing.

But that's not comp engineering. That's just being a code monkey which pretty much anyone can do.

I dont think this falls under the realm of freelancing but my gf's bro-in-law is a CE graduate that started making his own chipboards after college. He would buy them barebone from china and solder all the connections himself. Then hed flip them forva pretty penny until he had enough money to buy expensive laser cutting machines(he had been using toaster ovens until that point) and now he makes some good bank off of it. Also as a CE major dont you learn enough coding to do CS freelance gigs? Im an SE major and my CE buddies all say they had to learn some coding too.
