Why do people think Deutsche Bank is in trouble?
As far as I know DB has got 72.8 trillion USD in derivatives exposure, which shouldn't be a problem because most of that is in interest rate swaps.
Now, they also sold credit default swaps on Greece, Italy and Spain, but those countries are not likely to default on their debt.

DB is failing BEFORE there is a banking crisis. WHEN there is a banking crisis it will go below $1. It could be one or two years before that happens.

If we have ww3 or civil wars in usa or Europe which is very likely then gold will do well, but while obvious that it will happen, you don't know when it will happen and you will trade frantically in the meantime and lose so who knows, just don't buy any bank stocks until people are literally jumping from Windows
