Hi i made a thread awhile ago when i was still struggling to be involved in coprate security in the UK, (no one probably remembers ;_:)
Well i succeeded in my endevour and now work a very comfortable job guarding a massive warehouse at what i think is reasonable pay.

However in a couple of months i think id be finacially sound enough to progress to the next level i want to be at: personal security. I'm working on my fitness and reading up on requirments but theres one, major thing i noticed: the only people who get hired well in personal security who dont have a previous history of serving in the armed forces all have one thing: Firearm's training.

I'd take this guestion to /k/ but I feel it would both slide into oblivion with all the recent turmoil the boards facing and i got some genuinly great answers from people here. I mean hey, advice here got me this far.
(pic somewhat related, i know it wouldnt be practical but bloomin' hell would i feel badass if if I could guard someone with one of these tucked under my jacket)

Anyone else wanting to ask for advise carrer-wise is welcome to post here also!

Bump.

Just to check, is this board slow or Is my question really boring or unintresting?

Sorry! fudged up the OP. My question was: whats the best country to go to cost wise to recive valid firearm training that the british goverment would accept?
>>
Hi OP, Britfag student here. I have a buddy who would love some advice from you and perhaps start a business venture in private security. I know it's a long shot, but is there a way I can put you two in touch?
>>
>wanting to do personal security in a non gun friendly country without a background in the military or police
sorry OP but I don't think that's going to be possible. Even here in America I live in a non-gun friendly state and the only people who get concealed carry licenses are ex police and millionaires who say they need guns or they'll get kidnapped.

Well, do you speak any languages apart from english? That seems like it should be an important consideration.

Unfortunately Im a rather new (4 years in the industry officially, one year unofficially) and a small cog in the wheel at the minute, though alot of people ive known in the security industry go on to run there own security firms in later life (you'd think its oversaturated but if anything its booming what with current politics/civilian issues and property ect)

What id reccomend is him investing in VSG/OCS (security firms) before setting up his own venture (shows presiege when it all goes well...Do NOT invest in G4S, its really in turmoil from all in the know.

Im aware and thinking of picking up spanish. I have passible Italian but honestly im not a very good at learning languages, tried to learn german for two years and only realy remember how to count up to ten and order orange juice.

yeah I know its a long shot but being a bodyguard of some description has become my goal in life, even if it were for a dubious person I might be tempted because to me, there's no greater satisfaction than knowing im 100% loyal to a client and the responsabilities that entails.

Wherever or whoever, I feel protecting someones life is a nobal proffesion and the coolest job ever.

lol yeah i was just about to say in most of america im sure its COMPULORY to be an armed guard!
>>

Yeah it sucks, but its not quite as bad as I laid it out unless you live in NYC. I live just outside of it and guns are just a hassle to get, rather than impossible to get. In the city you need to get a license to buy a shotgun, who ever heard of such a thing?

Its just very frustrating that the wealthy are allowed to arm themselves but everyone else can go fuck themselves, thanks Bloomberg.

Yeah ive never got this notion that only the wealthy 'deserve' such protection, its the same in England, I used to be a gamekeeper and the amount of people who came to the shooting events who were both not upper-middle class/posh or rural commoners/rich i could count on my hand. No young urbanites but i bet they'd love it rather than say 'guns are bad'

In the future i plan to be involved in politics to advocate lifting the ban on Handguns in this country, would be hard but i think people could see sense as im not advocting looser laws of obtaining it (keeps the chavs out, see.)

On that topic, not that anyone here might know but whats the best weapon to specialise in? (other than your fists...lol)

I mean id guess like a makrov or ppk for size but are they easy to come by like say a glock worldwide? Id rather not have glocks, they seem somewhat fiddly but i dunno that yet obviously.

Oh and other than bodyguarding I wouldnt mind guarding high prioriety locations eighter, like a pipeline in jordan or a texas ranch or something.
meet exotic people, see exotic places and all that.
