What does /biz/ think of engineering freelancing? I'm a 3/5year Computer Engineer who doesn't want to work office hours. How many years experience do I need?

Just curious. I'm going into software engineering. What don't you like about your job? How's the pay?

nah, working in office to pay for uni. just don't like the lifestyle https://youtu.be/R_rF4kcqLkI?t=18s

I would few years experience before going for contracts. Contacts are equally important though, in case you need to jump jobs. Spend some time working in your desired role, because your rep as a freelancer means alot and you don't want to be fucking up due to inexperience.

If you're good and in demand, just go for it. My buddy was doing Drupal consulting right out of college, but he's got grit.
