First off I'm sorry if I get anything completely wrong, I don't know much about economics at all.

The market capitalization of all the world's stock markets is equal to $70 trillion dollars.

So far as I understand it, stock markets are linked to job creation, yes? EG: more money in stock markets = more money being thrown around/business being made/etc = more jobs for people.

However, the low end estimate of the size and scope of global derivative markets is $630 trillion. The high end estimate is $1.4 quadrillion.

SO evidently there's massively more money in derivative markets than the stock market... so I'm curious, how do derivatives create jobs?

derivatives are just gambling, so does a casino create jobs? derivatives are zero sum outside of all the fees/ commissions for brokers and bid/ask for the market makers
