Whats the difference between investing and trading?

Trading you're in and out, investing is long term

Investing is when your profit from dividends and share value and you try to calculate if the stock is devalued or overvalued.
Trading is when you watch the news and trade based on how the market is doing instead of how the company itself is doing.
Traders look at options/forex
Both are when you buy trumpcoin > profit
If the stock doesn't pay a dividend then you are trading.

I think I understand.
You should only buy and sell dividend payers, because then the Feds can't claim you're trading, right?

what if you buy a stock a few days before the dividend is issued, for the sole purpose of getting the dividend, and then you sell it?

The dividends are calculated in the price already then.
