Target about 5 or 6 years ago. I buy enough to last a good long time. I throw them away when they get holes or really bad stains. When running low I buy more and good for another 5 or so years.

I see your point, and I am the same way with underwear (I buy my underwear at Old Navy on sale).
However I've been having a problem with my socks becoming piles of shit after a few months of wear. My Brooks Bros. ones all come undone - I have a pair from Banana Republic which surprisingly has held up well. Wondering if anyone has suggestions on socks to try.
Same thing for undershirts. I wear Hanes and the quality control is not that great. Plus they shrink a lot when you wash them.

Either way, boxer briefs reduce the chance of torsion by over 80% or so. Boxers simply don't provide any support so it;'s much more common.
