what does an "EU collapse" mean? Do you mean that all the member countries decide to leave? If so, it makes trade more difficult, slowing economic growth. That's pretty much it. The EU as a body was intended to create a free trade block within Europe. Without it, trade would simply be more costly.

Europe becoming the anus of the world would be a natural consequence of the EU being a failure, just like this referendum. We need it to fall so that we can fix and rebuild.

Britain has always been reluctant towards the EU because it's much more than just a free trade agreement (free movement of people, monetary union, tons of pointless rules, trying to become a superstate, etc.).
What Britain wanted was the EFTA, not German imperialism in disguise.
