No, you should have invested it in the stock market after it bottomed out. Gold would have made sense if you had cash reserves in GBP or Euro and you bought it before Thursday.

I meant to say waited, obviously it hasn't bottomed out yet. My point is that gold is a hedge against volatile liquid assets, and it's ill-advised to try to play that market
