anyone got some strategies to share with some peons?

I don't think it's likely to happen, but if it does, get your eyes peeled for cheap British manufacturing SMEs.

whether it happens or not there is going to be a huge move either direction.

the best course of action is to simply follow the trend once it begins to form. the referendum will take a long period of time and all through the day there will be updates of out vs in.

you can trade forex, or futures.

If Britain stays in the EU, withdraw all your investment from the UK. That isn't a joke. They will get higher taxes (EU wants money) and even introduce the Euro. It won't happen immediately but if they don't leave now they will never, and everybody knows it. Major defeat for peple opposing the EU means that the pro-EU cause in the UK will profit. And don't bet on a referendum, they had none on the Lisbon Treaty despite Cameron promised it.
Oh, and the Tory Party could collapse, leading to a Labour government, eventually. The same thing happened in the 90's. However, this time Labour is hard left. You know what that means - they'll be France.
If they leave, the Pound will drop, but it's a panic reaction and will be corrected within a few months. The same thing happened in Switzerland when they stopped pegging their currency to the Euro. Was supposed to be hell, but as you can see it worked quite well.
If Leave wins, the most extreme outcome would be Scotland leaving the UK (I doubt it will happen) and that would make the UK or how it's going to be called less socialist and more business-friendly.
Talk about an Anglo-German trade war is bogus, because the German industry lobby will call Merkel and the UK will get a better trade deal with the Continent than they have now. The only question is how long the posturing for the domestic audience takes, so be careful.
And yes, manufacturing SMEs are the best option.

How do I begin investing in British stock in the first place?
Same as any other?

It's still a yes or no result.

I'm impressed by how you managed to be batshit wrong on almost everything.

>taxes will destroy your investments
Which explains why US and Japanese companies are all worthless, all of them, and it was not worth holding any US stocks in 1955. (US and Japan fairly recently had some of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. 1955 chosen because that was before Kennedy lowered the top individual tax rate to 70% or so)

>introduce the Euro
Remain is a fundamentally conservative position - keep things as they are. As they are, the UK is in the EU and the UK is not in the Eurozone. There are many Remain supporters who like the pound. While a Remain win may get the handful of Brits who want the Euro to be a bit more optimistic, the pound is sufficiently well managed that I do not think Parliament - Labour or Tory - will go for switching to the Euro.

>The Tories will break promises again
'UK Parliament is full of liars' seems to be a good reason to weaken their power, perhaps by embedding them in some sort of transnational organization.

>Labour will turn the UK into France
And? My French investments aren't doing that bad, even assuming I don't bother reclaiming the tax France withheld from my dividends.

>The franc rebounded therefore the pound will rebound
My shares in US Steel went up this year therefore my shares in Seagate went up this year.

>The UK disintegrating can only make business better!
For arms smugglers, sure. Rest of us, not so much.

>German industry will demand Merkel give the UK a better trade deal than Austria gets
Which non-EU countries currently have better trade deals with Germany than the UK does? Why are they better?

At least Farage learned his 35Mil$ a day shit backwards, the shit you are spitting is idiotic.

If UK gets out of EU it will be as relevant as Norway.
