Five years ago i would go with netflix or the brazillian startup Nubank.
Today i would probably buy groceries and sell some home made candy in front of universities, because 1000 wouldn't give me shit in stocks and startups are multiplying without really offering much

I have a question similar to this that pertains to me specifically. I'm going to college soon, and my dad recently passed away. He left me around 25k in the bank, and I know that there has to be something I can do to make more money with it.
I really don't know what to invest it in, or even if I should just use it to pay for part of college- any bros with more life experience got any suggestions?
I'd probably stick it in a mutual fund. It's not very much money at all, but putting $1000 in something is a fairly effective incentive to continue putting more cash into it.

I would recomend government bonds since you are new to it, relatively safe depending of which country you live in and pay a bit higher than inflation, at least keeping your money's worth. Then try and educate yourself in stock market, options, contracts and etc and diversify according to your knowledge
