You are 18, fresh out of Highschool.

You are given $1,000 to invest in anything you want. You have the knowledge you have now.

What do you tell yourself, what do you invest in?

Today or five years ago?

Five years ago i would go with netflix or the brazillian startup Nubank.

Today i would probably buy groceries and sell some home made candy in front of universities, because 1000 wouldn't give me shit in stocks and startups are multiplying without really offering much

I have a question similar to this that pertains to me specifically. I'm going to college soon, and my dad recently passed away. He left me around 25k in the bank, and I know that there has to be something I can do to make more money with it.

I really don't know what to invest it in, or even if I should just use it to pay for part of college- any bros with more life experience got any suggestions?
>>
I'd probably stick it in a mutual fund. It's not very much money at all, but putting $1000 in something is a fairly effective incentive to continue putting more cash into it.

I would recomend government bonds since you are new to it, relatively safe depending of which country you live in and pay a bit higher than inflation, at least keeping your money's worth. Then try and educate yourself in stock market, options, contracts and etc and diversify according to your knowledge

Funds are alright too

I would buy BTC back then, now I'd put half into VOO and something else that's very safe, a little into speculation, and the rest into opportunities for stable growth, like CUR, GALXF, stuff like that.
>>
>>1326932

Oh and put 10% of your port into crypto. That doesn't mean it should stay there, make active plays on it.
>>
Lmao, I'd take all of my families savings and dump it in btc ofc

You're a nig. I wish I was 18.

Also if you think you cant invest anything at 18 you are retarded. Literally just look at Bitcoins, could have easily tripled your profits and then worked with investing $3000

Easy. I graduated in 2010. Throw it all into BTC and retire at the age of 21.

Why did AMD go up this time?

The op obviously meant what you'd do if you were 18 now, with 1000$ and the knowledge you have.
>>
>>1327428
That's dubious. Whether now or in the past was never specified. OP just said "You are 18, fresh out of Highschool".
