Since having a good career in business relies so much on your social skills, how do you de-autist yourself?

Is there some kind of book I should read or should I just load up on phenibut?

You could do what I did and become self employed, and then slowly spiral into depression and friendlessness and terminal virginity.

It's a viable option.

If you really want an answer, it is practise. Every. Single. Day.

pic related.

Definitely read the source but if you want an easier system. I like AFC Adam's it has one of the better rhythms. I've met the guy twice and he's seems like he's got very little head up ass syndrome. Saw his wife. He won the game.

Most of the others are still fucking shilling their systems and refining their methods. This guy rarely does anymore. His last post was 2012.

If you're gonna talk to people try to make it an interesting story.

phenibut relieves social anxiety somewhat, but it also clouds my thoughts and in fact makes it harder for me to socialize.

I've have better results with Xanax. That stuff really works, but the trouble there is it's highly habit forming and coming off the stuff last time I was hooked was weeks of abject misery.

I've tried "natural" cures for social anxiety like CBT, meditation, and the like. All bogus, as you might expect from anything "natural".

there really doesn't seem to be a fix.

Yep, you're autistic

i got a fairly technical financial analyst job out of college that didn't really require me to interact with people very often. mostly just sitting at my desk and cranking out spreadsheets and reports. been doing it for six years now and i'm starting to hit my ceiling unless i become more outgoing and bring business in. i've done a little but i always get terrible anxiety before i have to go meet with a client or when my phone rings. i feel like i'm going to say something stupid or they will ask me something that i don't know the answer to.
>>
>how do you de-autist yourself?
By socializing. Jus bee you're shelf lad :^v

Here's a decent site if you're actually burger-tier:

Go to a local bar every night. Make small talk with everyone.
>>

This would become hellish after the second visit for most autists.

What autists need is the freedom to experiment, which means consequence-free ventures into socialising, which means socialising as a traveler or tourist.

Small talk is difficult for autists because being on the receiving end is like getting a foot massage on a peg leg. Consequently, their conversations get deep very quickly, that is if they've learned to ask questions instead of offering lectures.

Na, I had severe social issues, like severely autistic shit - unable to look at people while i talk, stammering and fucking up everything i say... etc.

Going out and partying (drinking and drugs) was about the only situation in which i could have a conversation with someone and not completely screw it up.

After a few years of partying, I had significantly improved, and can now manage day to day life.

It's all just practice. People who struggle socially have just had very little practice, as they were likely badly bullied, or had no friends while growing up.

The Game by Shill Strauss? Are you fucking kidding me? The author is obviously smart, but the book is close to garbage. I just lost a bit of respect for you, Mr. Li Sheng.

start actually listening to people, actively. get out of your own head when anybody talks to you and have some empathy.

Take care of your body, dress well, keep your hair up to date in the style of your coworkers, watch sports no matter how boring they may be, keep up to date with news, make small talk, partake in slightly racist or sexist chatter to make people think you think like them, slowly build yourself into people's lives, talk infrequently but don't stay silent too long, ask people about their day, observe the weather, don't betray the fact that you're uncomfortable and make no references to anything unpopular socially or culturally and try not to hate yourself. Blend in, become nothing, drink, be merry and climb the ladder if you can manage all that and the x factors of daily life

>or had no friends while growing up.
Right, some of us just had bad luck in the draw, or were born with weird parents who told them it was cool to memorize the periodic table and carry a slide rule in a leather holster on my hip and brag about using it. Instead of... shit, what should I do instead? Ask people questions or something?

Just takes practice.
>>
Practice. Seriously, that's it. I used to be autist-lite because I didn't realise everyone else is literally autist-lite. Everyone worries about what other people think and say about them. They all worry about embarrassing themselves in public.

Once you realise that, you can get over that lack of confidence and start responding to people in the way they want you to. In other words, simply appear confident. Tolerate their mistakes. Smile and laugh at appropriate times. But you need to get out there. It's sink or swim. You're going to embarrass yourself a fuckton, but soon enough you'll realise that people actually like you.

Always agree with other peoples' viewpoints. If you're contradicting, always say, 'I suppose you're right' or 'I understand what you're saying, but I don't really know... I think it could be...'

Don't be a pushover, but make them feel included. Maintain eye contact, but not excessively. Fucking everyone worries about eye contact.

"Loving it Jennie. Hey, is it raining?"

"Uh, yeah, I guess it is anon."

"Huh, look at that. Raining pretty hard. So, what about that Orlando shooting yesterday huh?"

"Oh, I know, absolutely terrible. Those poor guys..."

"Yeah, I know right? I never really liked Latinos anyway. Go Lakers!"

Hey guys, question. I have an opportunity to intern with northwestern mutual. It's a life insurance/financial advising company.

I just did some research however and apparently the job involves using a personal network at times. I.e., friends and family. I'm not sure this is the career for me. I'm almost done with a management degree which is honestly a pretty bad degree so I'm not sure what else to do because I'm going to be needing a job.

You think it's worth it to try the internship? If anything maybe to de autist myself? I've never been incredibly outgoing or good at sales but I mean even if I don't like the job at all I think it might be a beneficial internship. Is it a good or bad idea?

The rep said that starting pay is on average 55k a year out of school and people who have worked there 10+ years make on average 300k. which sounds like a load of big fucking bullshit. I believe the pay is commission based

Toastmasters
seriously it's full of unfunny awkward neckbeards you'll initially think you're at a /biz/ meet up. Use you false sense of superiority and practice trying to give speeches that you'll cringe at later but be glad it was in front of people you don't care about.
>hurr I'm already good at public speaking
No. You're not.

I want to do this but how do I bar? Do I just go there, order a beer, and wait for someone to talk to me? The only time I havw gone to bars is when I was plastered on on the weekends with friends, so IDK how it works during slower hours or by yourself.

Do you just want to have the appearance of being deautist? That's fairly easy. Just mirror the person you're talking to.

For example, my boss at Wageslave Co likes anime tiddies, craft beer, and majored in philosophy, so I talk about those with him. One of my co-slaves likes piss beer, smoking weed, and has a dui so I talk to him about getting uncontrollably drunk. Another is big into sports, natural gardening, and camping, so I talk to him about those.

I don't drink, do drugs, watch sports, watch anime, garden, or go camping, but people like to talk about themselves, it makes them feel important.

As for actually becoming deautist, I doubt you'll find that out form anyone who posts to 4chan.
