DJI is such an archaic index, why do some media outlets talk about the Dow Jones before the S&P 500, which is much better and more representative than the market.

Dow has a 130 year history. S&P 500 has a 60 year history.

Easier for a normie to understand. (30 household names)

Correlates closely to the S&P 500 in the long term anyway.
