I want to give my dad the world trip he always dreamed off while working 14h a day to give me a better life than he had and my mother every single thing she gave up as a woman in order to raise me and my sisters, if she did her nails once a month herself it was a lot, never buyed good clothes and dedicated her entire time to us

and at the end i want to deserve hearing from them that they are proud of me

My family is fucking shit.

My mom left my dad when I was 11, and she ran off to another state where she basically slept around, partied, did drugs, and shirked all responsibility while my dad struggled to feed and shelter his 3 kids.

7 years later, I go to move in with her because my dad can barely support himself at this point

She fucking hates me because I look just like my dad, more so than my two siblings.

Does everything in her power to demonize me, blame me for everything that goes wrong, and discourage me from ever amounting to anything in life.

Even calls the police on me because I kicked a chair over when she was yelling at me for an hour about how I wasn't swinging the paintbrush correctly when I was helping paint the house earlier that day. Says she fears for her life because I'm "violent".

Go to court, judge realizes she doesn't have a case. But she won't take me so the judge sends me to a juvenile residential place.

Best behaved kid there. Always reading, drawing, keeping to myself, never getting into fights. All the staff know I don't belong there.

Get sent home when she can't afford to pay to keep me at the residential place. Calls the cops again because alcohol goes missing, which I had fucking nothing to do with. Go to juvie for one day, get sent back home because again she doesn't have a case. (This is all going on while I'm still in highschool trying to graduate).

Turn 18, immediately move out and live with a friend so I can finish highschool. Graduate, then spend the next four years of my life working factory jobs just so I can save up and buy myself the things most kids get from their parents. Hell I didn't even buy a car until last year, with cash, because the dumb bitch wouldn't cosign or even fucking teach me how to drive.

Now after years of me not coming to Christmas or Thabksgiving she finds out I'm in college and doing well on my own, and suddenly she wants to act like a mom again

I have had hard times in my life, but the think that always keeps me going is the knowledge that I will never let myself be unhappy.

If I find that I am unhappy, I will just change my life situation. I will join the Peace Corps, or the military, or sell everything I own and operate a hotdog stand on a California pier.

You need perspective man, you need to become the calm center of the universe.

If your parents truly are bad to you, realize that you need to pave your own way in this beautiful life. It will be very uncomfortable at times, but when its all said and done and you are 90 years old looking back, I am sure that you will be glad for the years that you enjoyed and spent being happy.
