>/biz/ says do things you hate like accounting or business management
>Trump says if you do things you hate, your production will fall, making you unhappy and poor, and thus preaches doing something you love
So which is it, /biz/?

YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP!

I'd like to think that wouldn't be the case of you had responsibilities. Let's see how much your production fall when you have mouths to feed. I know a lot of working class people tend to have this mindset.

But that's a means of survival. You can't accel at something you hate. You can't just say, "I'm going to get an engineering degree because they make a lot of money" and expect it to work out for you.

Easy question. Do what you love, always.

The _hard_ question is, what should you love?

Let's not act like our loves and passions are some objective, enternal quality that is embedded in your soul. You can choose what you love. Just because you loved magic tricks as a child does not mean you must become a magician now.

What should you love? Advancing humanity, making as much progress in this life as possible, bettering yourself, learning, having loving relationships with the people around you. Always be moving forward. Do more than is asked of you. Never be satisfied. Don't worry, you'll never be satisfied no matter what you do. So use that to stay motivated.

True, and I love things like math and science to an extent too. I just don't feel, personally though, that I will ever love it enough to feel satisfied with it. Also, no matter how much I try, I will never love being a Jew and trying to scam money out of people, no matter how good I become at it.

What do you care about the most?

What is your main goal in life?

What do you want from this world? Fame, respect, freedom, prestige, expertness, family, friends, leadership, service to man, meaning, health, knowledge, what is it?

You will never get what you want if you don't KNOW what you want.

btw
>>I will never love being a Jew and trying to scam money out of people
>it's either engineering or jew scammer!
>that false dichotomy thinking

That would be a strawman, friend.

What I'm looking for is self-fulfillment. I want something that I can focus my time and energy on 40+ hours a week without dreading going into work.

People who want fame become musicians.

People who want to express themselves become authors.

People who want service become counselors.

Now, people who want self-fulfillment become business owners, church leaders or monks. Steve Jobs was seeking meaning in his life, so he started Apple. If you want a job that connects on a deeper level to you, start a business in the area you want to impact. Take trump, he builds real estate. He gives people a home, a hotel to stay at, a casino to have great fun with their friends and family. He's fulfilling a purpose. If you only want to work 40+ hours a week I might recommend doing a small online business.

trump has never personally filed for bankruptcy

In order to start a business, though, you need a service or product that can compete with others, something I don't have.
>>
>>1316355
Not with that attitude you don't.

For real man, competing doesn't mean winning - it means having a go.
We all begin as students but you can make things happen for yourself.

My experience, so far, has been that these people tend to work to the extent that they can meet their obligations and don't do much else beyond that.

The only people I've met who put in real effort were the guys/single woman who were bullied in high school for programming in the computer lab during lunch hour
