I recently found a niche for reselling certain things on amazon and I've made a little over $1,000 last month. My investment has been limited and I only spent about 3 hours a week to make this. I also work a full-time job that is completely unrelated.
Anyway, does anybody here sell on Amazon? Any tips or insight? I was also curious to know about taxes and whatnot. Specifically, how do I go about proving that the money I got in sales is X% profit versus my cost for products?

I take it you are shipping the stuff to Amazon and they are shipping it to customers?
If so then you should try shipping it yourself.

Nah I haven't messed with FBA at all. I ship everything myself. When I read the fine print and saw fees for storing my items, plus lower profit margins I decided against FBA.

You might see a higher number of sales, though. People like Amazon packaging, and they know what to expect in terms of delivery times.

Everything that I have posted has sold within 48 hours so I'm not too worried about it at this time. I kind of like how easy it all is. Fees are comparable if not slightly less than ebay. The exposure couldn't be better.

Same
Just wait until Amazon enters your niche, sells it themselves, and undercuts you. They will.
Speaking of Amazon, I want to order a fragile item, and I have two options: one guy sells it for €33 and ships it himself, the other sells it for €27 and ships through Amazon Prime. The second guy has a bad history of stuff arriving broken but it was before he started shipping with Amazon. I'm tempted to get the second for dat fast secure shipping but I'm kinda worried.

I'm still curious about taxation and such. If anybody runs a store front I would greatly appreciate some info.

I'm the same way when I shop but when what I'm selling is 20-30% cheaper than amazon people tend to jump on it. I also do 2 or 3 day shipping so the people have been pretty happy about that.

They price a wide-variety of pre-owned items too high. I have no intention of selling anything new. Their inventory comes from amazon trade in and their values are terrible. Occasionally they have good prices on open box through warehouse deals.

Free 2 day shipping is the only way I would even consider buying outside Prime
How did you find your niche?

How much is the cost of a regular shipment? In my country seem to be fucking high making it relatively impossible...
