I work for an oil company and we are praying we can get better than 50 for our WTI. Hedging team has been having many meetings. Investment bank is doing the deals for us because they finance us. We want to do caps and collars because the boss can tell investors they are "costless collars" (One side pays for the other...) but in the oil business there is nothing that is "costless". Of course, if oil prices go above the cap we've got to pay the bank the excess over the cap. We don't get billed until we owe over $1 million above the cap.

where's the guy who said we were fucking with him because he thought /CL was Colgate-Palmolive?

Halliburton Company is an American multinational corporation, and one of the world's largest oil field services companies, with operations in more than 80 countries
>>1291796
Halliburton is kind of a shitty pick. It's 1/2 of it's ATH, not too much room to grow. There's some oil companies with caps of 100 million that have a lot more room to grow.

If you look at the stock of CL (Colgate Palmolive) on days of high volatility in CME WTI futures (also CL) you can see the price action where the nerds who programmed the AI algos to react to CL news actually fucked up and didn't program the "readers" to be aware of the equity CL as opposed to the commodity CL. Pretty funny specially on down days in crude. See it on the charts of Colgate Palmolive.
Anyone think exxon is going to $100? I've been holding for over a year now.
>>1291752
I unfortunately don't have a hijacked tanker I can load up with crude.

CL gets nailed when oil falls? That's rich.
It's like when that defunct stereo company TWTRQ went up 2500% before Twitter went public.
