Most important thing to figure out is what level of risk you are willing to take on (You're young so its generally gonna be high) and figure out the market cap of the shares you're gonna look at based on that (smaller have higher risk but potential for higher reward).
Also, consider learning some business skills and invest in starting up a business project, (buying something bulk and cheap and selling it more expensively under more favourable market conditions using Alibaba or something).
