/biz/, I want to start a hedge fund. How much money do I need for startup legal/administration fees?
In other words how much should I have saved before starting the fund (costs of living are irrelevant, only consider costs of doing business).
So far my guess is around $100,000. Thoughts?

you're not allowed to invest in a hedge fund if you are worth below a certain amount in the millions (google qualified investor SEC, it's a law), so i doubt you can start a legally recognized hedge fund with less than a couple of million
