If the only difference between a checkings account and a savings account is that a savings account gains interest over time, why not just have only a savings account and forego a checking account?
I can't debit from my savings, and there are transfer limits from savings to checking. I'm sure there are other Jewish tricks I'm not aware of.

I believe most savings accounts have a withdrawal limit, so that you can only have x amount of withdrawals a month without any penalties.
Really there's no reason to put your money in a savings account right now. You decrease the liquidity of your money for virtually no reason.

Don't do brick and mortar banks anymore. Just stick with online banks so you get a much larger interest return
