How viable is it to sell this wholesale stuff on ebay? I've heard a lot of different things from friends and I live in London so I worry the online market here would be oversaturated and I'd be stuck with a lot of stock clogging up my house

Trial and error. Some stuff sells, others doesn't. Electronics usually sell the fastest but have a lot of competition.
Excel is incredibly useful to keep track of sales and price check items.
Ebay and paypal fees combined are 13.4% +20p.
Excel Formula for calculating a price - =SUM(A1-(A1*13.4%))-0.2
I try to sell items between £1-40. The bigger the price, the larger the mark up to make a profit. Also, in case item is lost, damaged or buyer wants a refund, you limit your potential loss.
I tried Alibaba. Took too long, couldn't resell all the items and they took up a lot of space.
