Investing is a zero-sum game.

Unless you are willing to spend 8+ hours a day to become as well trained as your competition, you should not invest in the stock market.

Focus on your career/skill and stop wasting your time.

It's not. Just invest and wait some years. Only idiots try to beat the market.
>>
>>1278362

maybe, but some markets certainly beat others. is it worth the time to pick a specific market to invest in?
>>
You can always do real estate
>>

Not Zero Sum because companies create value, and historically since stocks were created several hundred years ago the total value has gone up.

maybe if you count inflation (real inflation).
but then again not investing would be burning money.

How much did you lose?

Unless you develop a system that actually works, which isn't as hard as you think
>>
Just don't be the last one in a pump and dump and you'll be alright
>>
>>1278351
What if I am though? I need to put my energy somewhere else and the daily grind is stagnant.

It's a zero sum game if you're a small time retail investor who fantastises on day trading into riches. The real traders are the ones that work at the IB and buy side trading desk who manage $500M+ portfolios for CALPERs, GE, Ford and the investment portfolios of large pension and 401k funds.

You outperform the market by 1% and your performance bonus is 2% of net gains on 1.5 billion dollars....

>Buy 100 SPYD ($3300)
>1% to 5% stable growth ($33 to $165)
>3% div ($99)
>+$132 to $264

Better than the $1.32 to $2.64 you get from savings
