I mean emailing a contact saying "I know you know such and such person, can you put me in contact with him?" or "I'm looking to get in touch with you on so and so's behalf. When is a good time to call?"
Just write "REPLY WITHIN 5 MINUTES OR WE'LL KILL YOUR WIFE/GF/SON/DOG etc." in the subject field. I'm sure you'll get replies quickly
