I have been selling cars for 2 years now and I absolutely hate it. What can a college dropout do to make comparable money ($3k-$5k) a month while working a normal 40 hour work week?

As a job where you get to sit on your ass for most of the day and talk? Probably nothing - only entrepreneurship can get you to those figures.
If you're good at selling cars why don't you team up with a mechanic where you buy used cars, he fixes them up, you sell it, and split the profits. Maybe you'll light your passion for it once most of the money goes to your pocket instead of the owner of the place.

Long hours to the point that I have no time for anything else. Genaral hostility in the environment. Lots of downtime/pointless busy work. You're a part time salesman and full time call center employee. Also no overtime.
