Starting an MBA in the fall, currently working in IT, though I have a (gulp) humanities background.
What should I read to prepare?
I've been going through some accounting/finance/economics textbooks and outlines, but I think I'm not qualified to determine what's actually useful.
Any suggestions?
Also, general MBA advice would be much appreciated.
The Little Book That Beats The Market
It'll give you the overview of equity investing. Greenblatt explains basic financial ratios. Little Book of Economics. Little Books of Everything.

Regarding non-textbooks, I have a hard time distinguishing between the get rich quick books and those of actual insight. Should I just stick to the "facts" to begin with, or are some of these better than others?
Also, currently reading Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, and The Economist regularly. Assuming I want to learn about the actual mechanisms of a running a business, is there another periodical or blog I should be reading?
