Does any business/politics publication come even close to matching this? If so, which ones?

Please no memes like Breitbart and Salon, thanks.

Dunno but stay away from Business Insider

Business Insider is weird. Like 70% of it is Buzzfeed level clickbait but 30% of the time they actually have pretty decent reporting. I don't understand. And a bunch of people on the street do seem to regard is semi-highly (though not on the level of WSJ/Bloomberg/Economist). So idk what to think about them.

I read FT everyday. Got a suscription too.

I am from Europe though

I find FT's writing a bit too dry, desu. How are their prices, though? The Economist is reasonable but WSJ is just insane.

I actually work in the financial industry so knowing about business/politics/economics markets is a must for me. Currently it's the only type of news I enjoy reading.

I never payed myself for a suscription, got it from university and later from work. Screencap of prices.

WSJ is good for business news, but it seems you already ruled that out.

NYTimes is good for news/politics. Not as good as the WSJ for business news, but you can read it for free by disabling javascript.

The New Yorker writes high quality articles on business, and they're free to read. Don't assume because their very literature and culture oriented they have socialist views.

Crain's is very good but their publications are locally oriented (Crain's Chicago, Crain's Detroit, etc.) so they may not have something relevant to you, depending on where you live.

None of those quite stand up to The Economist though in terms of being objective and factual while still being a pleasure to read. I'm biased though, as I'm a big TE fan. I'm surprised it gets so much love on 4chan considering it is so incredibly far off the populist views held by many here.
