Depends if you want kids or not. I live with my GF making $12/hr and she makes $9/hr. No kids so we are both able to save a couple hundred per month while still eating out, going on dates, and things of that nature. I work 30 hours a week and she works about 45. If we were both making $15/hr and working full time we'd be living lavish as hell.
People just don't know how to stretch their dollars I'm guessing, when they think they need to be making six figures to live comfortably
