Can Anyone in the engineering industry tell me if it is worth getting a masters degree (in terms of job prospects)? I'm nearing the end of a mech engineering degree.

Yep, dont worry too much though. The stockmarket will crash pretty soon, and if you buy at the bottom you wont have to care about your income anymore, so you've done a good choice if you think its enjoyable.
If you're anglo trash in a good uni you're good. Get your degree, work your ass off in the field for a few years, get a 720+ GMAT, go to a top MBA (MIT Sloan) and you're done for life. If you're euro or anything else, get a pre experience msc in a top uni in your country or the best you can find, or you're doomed. You choose.

It's not good for the money unless you want to go into a high tech industry. Have you done any internships? This would be a question to ask contacts working in fields you're interested in.
