We have a lot of IB threads, so here is one about commercial banking. I'm a commercial banking analyst. My job is to analyze borrowers who want to obtain bank financing. I'll be around to answer any questions.

35-40 a week, depending on how many deals are in the pipeline. Our office is in an office building downtown (there is a branch downstairs, but we are a few floors up).

Been in banking for 14 years. Been doing this particular role for 11.
>>
do you work w/ sba?
>>
>>1225983
I have done SBA loans but not too often. My bank is a preferred SBA lender, meaning that SBA trusts our underwriting enough that they will fund loans without doing their own underwriting. My last SBA deal was for a $1.3 million loan to a restauranteur who wanted to buy the building his restaurant was in.

Why are cap rates so low?
>>
>>1226009
Value of RE is going up. And since cap rates = NOI / property value, cap rates are dropping.

What type of education do you have? Can you get into this position with any degree? What were you doing before this?
>>
>>1226772
I have some of a finance degree (stopped school to focus on work full time). A typical job posting will ask for an accounting/finance degree or equivalent work experience. Prior banking experience is a plus. I worked in the retail branch system for about 3 years before jumping into this role.
