I recommend using Stockflare for newbies to get a good picture of how the overall market is doing. I look up individual stock on google search and google news (I usually search for cheap stuff with high volume.) Once I've found a few candidates, I look at their charts on yahoo finance. After a while of practice, you'll start to develop an eye for certain patterns and jazz. When You know something's going to happen, you go in and buy.

The point is that the stock is at a steep incline and that it's cheap. The steeper the incline, the more time you'll have before it goes down again statically. P.S. Owning a piece of property that's more than likely appreciating in value, creating residual income for you, easy and cheap to operate, and fully insured, is a much more sound investment.
Not only that, but it establishes to every businessman in your city that you're somebody. You can buy something like a laundry mat with that kind of money, flip it around and turn it into a convenience store combo, increase profits, and then turn around and sell it for a much larger profit.
This is just an example though, because people will snag up laundry mats like crazy since they're cash cows.

I have heard things about NK (NantKwest) which is the only other major US Public company to be involved heavily in iPSC NK cell-lines is not spending much money on R&D, instead, they are using their money for "other things".
I think NK may use it's cash to acquire their R&D, rather than build it themselves.
