How can the porn industry be so big if all the videos are free?
>>
not all videos are free

advertisement

Believe it or not, some people actually do pay (though I'd have to bet that the proportion is decreasing), and it's cheap as shit to make.
>>
>>1177581
/bump

also how does google make money if it doesn't sell shit, don't say advertisment, everyone today has an adblocker installed.
>>
>>1177591
Sex toy advertisements?
I've been off the porn for some years.

>>1177688
Industrial scale datamining?
>>
>>1177688
It sells data, just like windows ten.

Google probably sells more statistics than any company on the planet.

so they make money like facebook by selling private information to the government and every agency wanting it. fuck them and their "be not evil" shit.
>>
>>1177581
Ad revenue, click revenue, you have people who like to own their porn, you have people who have the view of "if I like a thing I will pay money to support it". This is how free to play video games work, in a way it applies to porn. They want to support their favorite sites so they will give them money in some way.
>>

Are you retarded?
It's not conspiracy, it's a business model, and it's not even a secret.

You really think they solve extremely difficult problems like real time navigation and take on logistical nightmares like always accessible email accounts and gigabytes of free storage for millions of people, "just because"?

They're not "selling" your data, but they do run every piece of information you give them to build a profile they do sell to give "access" to deliver targeted ads to you.

Adverts. Expensive niche porn.

Otherwise, the industry is pornography and pornography accessories. Fleshlights, vibrators, dildos, the list goes in.
With the advent of 3D printing, you'll soon be able to order models of your favourite star's body parts.
>>

I thought this was common knowledge? When you commit to getting Windows 10 on a new computer it even says in the disclaimer that "Cortana" reads your emails to "better your online experience." It's shady but not exactly illegal.

Haven't you noticed whatever you've been looking up appears in filler ads for eBay or whatever?
>>

Has quitting porn improved your life?
>>
>>1177801

You're talking to a shill

Don't expect a real conversation
>>
Honestly, I think it's fetish porn.

Mainstream porn sites have to think of different avenues to make money like they used to but niche fetish sites still have the traditional paysite structure or selling clips and pics and they tend to do really well.

Obviously they're shooting for a smaller audience, but when you have a weird specific fetish (like me) and there's only a handful of stuff online that you can find for free, ocassionally I'll bite the bullet and pay for something.

It's actually something I want to do whenever I'm making decent money in the future. Start a fetish paysite.
>>
>>1177592

this.

also many of the people in porn use it as a platform for their paid camming, and prostitution.

Porn aint what it used to be.

Prior to tube sites a good star could make $200+ per year.

Now, most of the girls make right around $100k a year, that do regular stuff.

Watch Louis Therouxs porn documentary, a real eye opener.

>but when you have a weird specific fetish (like me) and there's only a handful of stuff online that you can find for free

furry is not a fetish, it's a disease
>>
>>1177906

Not a furry an ABDL.

Which I admit is in some ways worse.
>>
>>1177915
Well man, I would understand if you are japanese.
>>
Fun little fact

The parent company of Brazzers also owns xtube, xvideos, redtube, and a dozen others.

They don't lose very much money off the stuff being pirated or streamed.
>>
>>1178070

Not sure what nationality has to do with it but I'm French.
>>
>>1177915
Nigga I know your pain, oddly it started to go away for the most part when I got into TRP.
In the eyes of most members of society ABDLs are on par with pedophiles, admittedly TRP is almost as unspeakable.
>>
>>1178073
Kikes man, kikes
>>
>>1178073

but fucking how?

So so so many people just go on tube sites for free porn.

I would bet that less than 30% of the people who view porn actually pay for something. And among that group it's probably just one small membership or something.
>>
>>1178231
Everyone watches porn so even a small percent of people paying is a lot
There are also advertisements for those that don't have subscriptions
>>
>>1178231
One small $9.99 fee.

Next month it's $29.99 untill you call and say wtf is this. I only wanted to pay 9.99
>>
>>1178370
It's the reason why membership fees are higher if you pay in bitcoin. Since they can't sneak in extra fees the next month.
>>
>>1178221
It's actually a partnership between a greek and a lebanese.

They employ hundreds of people in Montreal. People say it's a real problem how there's all of these greeks and lebs who don't know what they're doing, but are in management because they know the founders.

>>1178231
Most stuff being leaked is just previews, like 5 minute videos. Try uploading one of their actual full videos to the site and see how long it lasts.
>>
>>1178231
Advertising,
>>
ITT: "I don't pay for porn nor do most of the people I know ergo nobody pays for porn"

Lots of people buy it. Not the majority. But lots.

Also, most porn stars are also $1000/hour or more whores. Free porn is advertising.

Producers charge directors money. Directors charge "talent scouts" (pimps). Talent scouts charge 10% plus rent to "actresses"

So the money paid to porn stars gets back to the person paying the porn star
>>
>>1178182
TRP is the stock ticker for Trans Canada Corporation. You're a sick fuck if you beat off to publicly traded stocks.
>>
>>1178231
30% of say 100,000,000? How do you not think that's profitable. I doubt it's that high actually.
>>
>>1177688
Yes, advertisements you fucking genius. You'd be surprised how many do not use adblock on their PC. However, you're also completely ignoring the fact that barely anyone has adblock on their cellphones and there's millions of ads people see while using them.
