You need money to fund the production of more wealth. Poor people cant allow themselves to waste months on some hobby project in hope it pays off. They need to be funded for that. The investor makes it happen so naturally the investor also gets the biggest share of his project.

This happens on every scale. Big corporations helping smaller ones achieve their goals in exchange for a share.
