CIS is basically a mix of CS and IT, you do some basic CS stuff like intro-level programming, data structures, discreet math, but you also learn all the Cisco CCNA (networking) stuff, Linux admin stuff, MS server admin stuff, and general business stuff like MS Office. Honestly it's a pretty good mix if you do want to work in some form of IT.
