Fool, the chicken entrails said now was the time to buy
>>
>>1134860
Oh really!?...
>>
"Buy when there's blood in the streets"

I'll be buying.
>>
>>1134848
It's odd how periodic this rise and fall of the S&P has become. It's almost like every company is just using their idle cash to buy shares when the times are good then the business cycle catches up with them and they have to cash out, causing what we see in the pic.
>>
shit meat hah

!!!
>>
Doesn't this only affect poor people.
>>
>>1134901
it certainly doesnt affect me, and im poor(net ~15000)
>>
>>1134904
So what demographic did the recession affect? Small business owners? What's going to happen? Should I stock up on canned goods and fresh water? Ahhhhhh!
>>
Staying 15% cash. Get cash before the elections are over.
>>
>>1134915
did it affect anyone? i swear some of you guys dont know how to be chill

i dont know anyone personally that happened to so i am much less inclined to believe it as fact

I know my family was heavily effected by it. It didn't help that our house got destroyed by a hurricane the same year, but still.
>>
>>1134886
honestly, i think it's just due to over value.

it's going back to 2100 and then it will idle for a while.

I've been selling covered puts and making bank for years now.

I am going to wait till hillary is confirmed.

I know Yellen isn't going to pull the trigger beforehand because Trump will try to destroy the central banking system in the U.S.

I do think it may happen early 2017. And no i am not ready at all, i don't even know how the fuck to prepare for this one.
>>
or i might go all out on gold
>>
>>1134998
Gold just recently made a good run up
>>
>>1135011
yea, i bought a bunch of shares of GLD in December.

My next step to get physical gold coins off of apmex.

I just don't know where to put them, or how much i can sell them for. whether there is like a fee or something

I have a bunch of gold, most purchased online but...

Pawn shops will give you FMV on gold always and most of the time they'll sell it at FMV.... They don't care that it was your great-uncle's wife's grandmother's chain... they care about weight and FMV.

Just be patient.

If it happens before the election, then Yellen might not get to secure her position.

So just wait till January 2017.

Give it time anon.
>>
They won't let it crash during election season. It will be propped up for a while yet. Hilary's campaign is continuing the good things Barrack has done and if it all collapses trump wins and the establishment is fucked. No. We have a good bull year and then get ready for mayhem
>>
>>1135162
what else did ppl do in 08'?
>>
>>1135170
so basically your opinion is that we are going to have a propped up market that's going to be worthless to invest long in til the end of the year?

We haven't seen any Hindenburg triggers yet have we? I'm sure a correction is due but that's about it for now.

You buy way out of the money puts on up days. Use margin to buy more puts on the way down. Those are the guys who Instant gorrillionaire. Hard to figure the timing though.

Higher leverage fewer fees. would be the /ES futures.

ive created a trading strategy based around how many posts on this board talk about crashes. the more crash talk the more i buy. when the talk about crashes on /biz/ reaches an all time low ill cover and go short. this board is a pretty good way to measure what "dumb money" is thinking.

Maybe, and I think u mean studebt loan

Unless ur making some type of joke I don't get
>>
>>1137116
No, I'm being serious and I do mean student loan. Same shit with bad loans from banks that led to the housing market crash hack in the 2000's. I wish someone here who is an economic intellectual can redpill me on how to capitalize on this bubble that's going to pop.
>>
How are they going to save the economy this time? Interest rates are already on the verge of going negative, just print more money?
>>
>>1137145
just gotta let it correct.

It's almost like wealth inequality is bad for the economy. Weird, huh?

What are the best stocks and investments to counter balance the pop?
Like gold or silver?
Personally dont think student loans will be what causes it to happen. Student loans are a totally different type of loan than anything physical. Since you cant repo a college degree.
>>
>>1136653
theyre big as fuck dude

Well its rise certainly corresponds to increasing economic instability and stagnation. Do you have an actual argument to the contary that isn't just about you being butthurt?

literally yes. where have you been the past 7 years?

QE4 around the corner

really risky to try and do "the big short". it is much better off adding bonds to your portfolio now if you think that there is a massive crash coming. you should weigh your portfolio back towards common stocks after the crash.
>>
>>1137494
economic inequality is just another symptom along financial instability and stagnation, not the cause
>>
>>1137145
They are going to complete sacrifice the value of the dollar in order to save the stock market.

This is why gold is going up right now because hyperinflation is a large possibility
>>
>>1134901
No. It hits the middle class the most.

>Pawn shops will give you FMV on gold

FMV in the realm of pawn shops.

do not buy gold/silver from pawn shops unless you know what you are doing. pawn shops exist to make money off the spread between buy/sell off people. they don't get discounts for having contracts with manufacturers, they make money by ripping people off. you will not get a good deal in a pawn shop unless you are taking advantage of a pawn shop owner's ignorance

>>
>>1138035
Yes but bonds generally are less risky than the market. If bonds go down 10% as a whole but stocks 45%, you'll be in a better position.
>>
>>1138081
or you could have hit the reverse position button like someone interested in making money and added that 45% and 10% to your net worth. and hedged your position with puts.

b/c the market as a whole has price action with negative skew and negative kurtosis.

more frequent than normal large moves. and the majority of those large moves being down moves.
Crash Ups rarely happen. b/c of limited leverage. Down moves Its easier and easier to keep leveraging, while up moves are harder and harder to leverage.

the majority of professionals are short for this reason.
Coupled with that Upwards risk is negligent with shorting bonds right now. with interest rates at near zero, the price must surely fall.
>>
>>1134848
Whatcha talking about?

Ready for another 2009, more like
>>
>>1138096
>hedged your position with puts.
This is pretty useless. When do you buy the puts? Just before a crash? The problem is no one knows when the market is actually going to crash, so you will end up doing it multiple times, and losing money on time decay and sharp sudden drops in volatility.

If you don't know what you are doing when buying or selling your puts (and most people won't) you will just be throwing your money away. I think 90% of retail options buyers (i.e. the man on the street) lose some or all of the cost of the option.

Options are a fool's game unless you have experience, and experience can be expensive.
