What you should know is that there are a ton of options for you in starting a company with $100,000. The guy who told you that you couldn't do much with it probably doesn't know about already established businesses and loans.
If you want to get your feet wet, you can always check locally for businesses that are for sell. I know a guy in my area who got started with car washes and laundromats.

Options trading is a bold move for the uninitiated, but go for it man.
The best thing to do with it would be to set up thousands of bots that exist only on the blockchain to spoof thousands of fake internet transactions for illegal goods over decentralized networks. Make these fake illegal good transactions for illegal weapons, drugs, and slaves to and from third world countries (none of it is actually getting exchanged in real life, though). All of these transactions are done through the blockchain and fueld by ether.
Get the attention of Interpol and the Feds, then short the absolute fuck out of ether, and then when the law starts attacking ether make tons of money as it crashes.

go to the library for these books. look online. read free things. get good recommendations.
once you have an industry you'd like to get into, research more. create business plans.
it's not hard. you could very easily 10x that within two years. but understand the current economic conditions and that a global recession/war is coming. plan accordingly.
