Who here /ASTI/?

Proud owner of 2k shares here. This thing goes to $1 and we're gonna be rich, boys!
>>
>>1118823
I own them at $0.063 btw
>>
>>1118823
Dont fall for the le penny stock meme, anon.
>>
>>1118828
This isnt TBEV, kid. ASTI lands a government contract and we end up in the moon. Literally. Solar panels on the moon
>>
>>1118836
IF. Ok, anon. Sell me. Why should I buy and how many shares should I buy?
>>
>>1118837
They have a method for creating thin flexible solar panels. I think the only product they are on is this survivalist backpack that charges itself. They also just were granted a patent on the lightest solar panels designed for use in space travel. They get a good salesman onboard and it'll take an Army or NASA contract to triple the stock overnight. All of their revenues come from that backpack, but the applications are much broader
>>
natural gas is dirt fucking cheap right now. Solar should be getting killed I don't understand it
>>
>>1118847
How are their fundamentals? How many shares should I buy?
>>
>>1118852
Fundamentals are awful. Have never turned a profit. Buy 2k shares and sit on them
>>
>>1118853
Whats the possible upside? IF they did land a government contract, what would you expect the price to go to?
>>
>>1118855
Last time they posted a slightly less bad quarter (Q4) the stock doubled overnight. I could only imagine if they became profitable
>>
>>1118852
Fundamentals? They're damn near bankrupt, have no major clients and the founder dumped $7m of his own cash directly into the company to try to keep it on the NASDAQ, and couldn't.

Don't waste your money.
>>
>>1118863
I bought SWHC last week ahead of earnings. What are you holding right now?
>>
>>1118863
This. Buy buy buy
>>
>>1118847
Wow, so your $120 investment could go to a whopping $360. Are you literally 12 years old?
>>
>>1118869
All long dividend stocks with 5% or better yields. FTR, ELRC, NRZ, F, DB, BSM, TD are the ones where I have at least $1k. Bunch of smaller ones, but dividends is where you make your real money.
>>
>>1118872
Woah, big money bags over here. It's a pennystock, bro. Put in $100 and sit on it for a quarter or two. If it triples, treat your wife and her son to a nice dinner
>>
>>1118876
Agreed. I own a bunch of VGR love that 5% stock dividend.
>>
>>1118847
so in other words, 100% of their projected revenues are concentrated in one product that doesn't have a consumer base

did you even look at their balance sheet? i hope this isn't the investing methodology that you use. you may as well go to a casino and play slots.
>>
why do we always discuss the same shitty pump and dump stocks like this over and over again
>>
>>1118885
>VGR
Hmm, that's a new one to me. Time to look...
>>
>>1118903
>VGR
>Tobacco... Nope
>Tobacco... Nope
>Western Union... Nope
>1/5th of Lower Manhattan...Yep

Just got a bonus last week from the job, I think I'll be buying 50 shares in the morning. Thanks for the tip anon!
>>
Can we all agree that this P & D is dead, try getting the noobies with UWTI and let this shit rot.
>>
>>1118908
No problem. Lets discuss other non meme stocks. I'm long VGR, PYPL, MA, V, PSX, VLO, SWHC, RGR and AAPL.
>>
>>1118915
Dude it got dumped so hard after the delist its in natural pump mode. Nothing about the company changed post-delist. In fact they should be in their most profitable quarter yet
>>
>>1118908
Also, thinking about building positions in big tobacco companies like MO, RAI, and PM. These are very long term plays, betting on them to be able to capitalize on the legalization of marijuana on the national scale. Thoughts?
>>
>>1118919
Would it kill you to take in any risk? What are you, 90 years old?
>grandpasportfolio.xel
>>
>>1118929
What are your expert picks, anon?
>>
>>1118937
ASTI lol

In all seriousness, the rest of my portfolio is in energy stocks
>RIG
>NE
>SPN
Sold some LNG today and will look to buy more in the $20s

Proud owner of 49 shares worth a total of 8 cents.

We Wolf of Wall Street now
>>
>>1118939
Whats your strategy?
>>
>>1118919
Not bad, but I wouldn't buy any of them. Solid, reliable, and (if they do post a dividend,) it's under 3%. That is my key threshold, it MUST perform at 3% or better.

As to the possibility of big tobacco being able to take advantage of legalized pot, I don't think they could. As it stands, until the FDA changes pot from being a schedule I drug, it'll never be universally sold. Big tobacco relies on the high barrier to entry to prevent competition. EVERYONE in the legal pot world right now is on a nearly equal footing, hundreds if not thousands of small producers and retailers.

>>1118929
Why take risk? Making money by simply owning money is better. Risk may mean bigger reward, but hell, look at the portfolios of the world's richest. How much risk there?
>>
>>1118939
On review, that's not terrible. Lot of risk, but it's not unreasonable risk as the world will always need oil and gas.
>>
>>1118949
I was just joking around. Everybodys strategy is different.

>>1118947
Make a shitload of money in a few years when Transocean and Noble are two of the only offshore drillers that didnt go under and all the undiscovered oil is ultradeepwater.
>>
>>1118949
>>1118927
My brother lived in Fort Bragg (Mendocino) and knew a lot of growers up north. Word was big tobacco companies were making big land buys in the area. Acres and acres and building networks with the biggest local growers. Food for thought
>>
>>1118955
Fair enough, but you never can tell. There are lots of special needs folks around here who legitimately think like some of the guys upthread do...
>>
>>1118966
Lol I'm OP, just different ID. I made this thread mainly as a joke. I swing trade with a couple hundred dollars just for fun and bought 2k shares of ASTI today on pure speculation. Glad the thread took a detour, though.

Whats your best dividend stock?

Also, what do you think if Seadrill Partners? Huge yield but I dont understand the business structure
>>
>>1118963
I live in SC, damn near center of the tobacco world. If big tobacco is buying land and planning on cultivating it the same as they do their current leafy sin, they're going to get beaten the hell out by smaller guys again. Quality pot is hard to breed, and harder to grow. Unless they can begin putting out product within a month of nationwide legalization, they're not going to be terribly successful. And as it stands with the patchwork of legalities, they can't put much into it right now.

BUT...you never can tell.
>>
>>1118970
Aaah, that's funny. I've seen ID's shift, but never that quick.

As for Seadrill partners, I have a sinking feeling that their last dividend will literally be their last. Stock's in the toilet and outlook is so bad that Moodys kicked it down three ranks. It's safer to invest in Greek bonds than SDLP. SDRL, same deal. $10b+ in debt and a downturning market? I'll pass on both.
>>
>>1118976
Im sorry, Fort Bragg California. Its up north in Mendocino county.

>>1118987
Just got home from work, posted on the phone. That was my thoughts on Seadrill Partners as well. When I bought Noble, it had an 11% yield. Ill probably get one more payment if lucky
>>
>>1118915

The US goverment owns a patent for medical marijuana. US 6630507 B1. At the pace its being legalized on the state level I think that in 10-15 years it will be comepletely legal nationaly.

Big tobacco already has the infastructure and distribution channels in place to mass produce and market marijuana products once it becomes legal. Imagine walking into the corner store and buying a pack of Marlboro Green's.

The marijuana market potential in the U.S. is enourmous. 2014 data suggests it rivals the beer market.

>Newport Purps
>>
>>1119044
>Camel Kush
>>
>>1119051
Nice. Seems like a pretty safe investment in the meantime. What kind of dividends are you getting
>>
>>1119065
None yet. Havent started building posistions. The only tobacco stock I own is VGR and it pays. $0.40 a share quarterly cash dividend plus an anual 5% stock dividend.
>>
>>1119038
Are they not going to have the same old issues with their product casing health effect?

It's only a matter of time until someone scientifically proves what we all know already. Chronic weed smokers fuck their brains. What are the lawsuits from that going to cost on top of the vanilla lung diseases etc?
>>
>>1119080
>Chronic weed smokers fuck their brains
Chronic weed smokers generally have fucked brains before they even start smoking
I live with people who smoke for like 30+ minutes at least 5-6 times a day
>>
>>1119080
Dont know, dont care. I do know that if and when weed becomes legal, big tobacco should capitalize on it.

Weed smokers are idiots and anyone who thinks that smoking weed is not harmful to their health is a fool. But like cigarettes and booze people will buy it regardless.
>>
>>1119090
>But like cigarettes and booze people will buy it regardless.

No doubt, but remember how cigarette companies were nearly put out of business by lawsuits. It's a risky thing selling something new (to the legal markets anyways) and dangerous.

It will be some group of retards saying "I didn't know smoking pot would fuck my brain and they didn't warn me" suing everyone.
>>
>>1119099
Thats possible but I yhink its worth the risk.
>>
>>1119099
They have legal teams who have been through the bullshit once around and most likely developed strategies for what works and what doesnt. Also, current medicinal marijuana laws will give legislatures a big problem if they try to claim weed is bad in the future after writing laws that literally made it medicine
>>
>>1119078
Damn thats a sweet yield. Thx for the tip
>>
>>1119078
My brokerage lists it at 6.9%. Fuckin sweet
>>
>>1118823
I have 12k shares of them. Waiting to be rich man.
>>
Holy volatility. Was down 16% at one point today on ASTI. At least NE is up 11% RIG 7% and SPN 9%. Looks like oil may have found a bottom
>>
>>1119820
just shy of 11k here i pretty much just set my sell limits and won't look at it ever but still i believe in the company but if anybody is watching this stock daily they are gonna give themselves an ulcer
