ETH is heading towards being the currency of web 3.0, the internet of things and the infrastructure will be adopted by banks for their internal ledgers allowing seamless transfer of assets from public to private chain and vice versa.
The value of ETH is currently second only to bitcoin and is more than all the other altcoins put together. It's not going to disappear in fact its just beginning to snowball.
