I play around with ezrt (before the jump) pkgm, volatile but moving stocks. Buy low sell itty bit more but buy enough shares where I make at least 40 bucks after transaction fees. I play around with tbev usually buying 100k or 200k shares for .0001 and usually get sum smuck to buy it at .0002 here and there. Ez money if you just watch it for awhile and you buy at the low. Ima regret one day when one of them go for the moon and I'm not on that ride.

Why bother? Seriously, the profits couldn't possible make up for the time spent on research and trading, let alone anything else.
>>
>>1110600
>Why bother?

Poorfag 20 year old with VERY little experience in the market. Like I said, this is my first trade so I'm not exactly gonna drop 2k+ on something like that. (wish i did now tho lmaoooo)

Obviously they are unemployed.

For people like us 10$ makes difference.

Our time is quite literally free. 20$/day is enough for rent, heating, internet and food; albeit the bare minimum possible (for me).

Let's assume 12 hours per day can be used efficiently for working: I cost 1,67$ per hour.
>>
People still posting in this thread?
Alright so I have saved some money, and I have started to wonder what do I do with the money. We're talking about a couple of grands. I was thinking of investing it like this. But the thing is that i'm 17. Is it possible to invest on my own? Any tips for a beginner? Should I even invest? I live in Europe btw.
>>
>>1110625
Gotta be 18 bud.

You should use stock trading simulators in the meantime. It's all realtime, realworld stocks so you can gain the experience without using actual money.

You'll actually be relieved seeing how much money you would have lost if you jumped right in to the real stuff instead.

Look on the app store or something for one and begin trading.
>>
>>1110535
25% is a great gain. I've sold stocks for much less. Even as low as 20 bucks if I want out.

If it's mainly a learning experience, then great.

>>1110609

>Our time is quite literally free

No, it literally is not. It's a limited resource and allocating it right is one of the most important things you will do in your life. Whether you're learning a skill, reading, participating in social activities or even binge watching a decent TV series, your time is better spent than working to maybe earn $1.67 per hour.

If you're in need of money that bad, do some menial job part time for minimum wage and use the rest of your time on something productive or at least entertaining.
>>
>>1110829
Alcoa. It's being split in two by its highly respected management team. You could see a 50 -75% gain this year on that. I mentioned and here a month ago and that has doubled
>>
>>1110969

25% increase != doubled. Still, that's a nice tip.

You probably want to save around $2-3k before opening an account and starting your portfolio. Take the time now to learn basic skills re: trading/investing and you should have a leg up on the neet faggots who think throwing $300 at UWTI is gonna make them rich.
>>
>>1111062

This isn't a way to actively be making money. Stocks are about investing, some people try to actively trade like I do on this app specifically, but it's more for fun than anything. You may as well try to make money at the casino if you're gonna play the robinhood game just for profits. Otherwise, go to a real broker like TD ameritrade and open an investment account there; don't expect to pull out your money till retirement, though. You're looking to make gains for the longterm. Robinhood is for the memes and short term trades, which will never make you as much money as just getting a fucking part time job will, unless you start with a few million buckaroos from the start.
>>
>>1111258
Sorry, thought i was in the robinhood thread.
Either way, it's not a method to actively make money. Your money stays in your portfolio; you don't buy lunch with it. Looking for a job is infinitely more important for you atm than playing with stocks

For my Finance class, we keep track of our individual $100k portfolios on Market Watch. Winner with the biggest return by the end of April gets extra credit. We have to do two shorts by then. Any suggestions on what to short? I godda catch up with this guy who is already at $130k net value after 5 weeks and I am only sitting at $100,800

You may as well short the s&p if you're just going for a FANG.
As for a specific pick, short CHK.
It has gone way up recently over hocus pocus asset selling news (also known as: prolonging inevitably bankruptcy) It's a dead company that just had its cyclical rise that inevitably will fall twice as hard soon, as it's been doing ever since nat gas prices fell. And nat gas prices are NOT going up at least before your class is over. So expect more droppage.
