when you buy a stock at market price you are paying the 'ask' price

when you sell a stock at market price you are receiving the 'bid' price

the current value of a stock is the last sale price, typically in the middle of the bid and the ask
>>
CPXX has resistance around 2.4 and support above 2.15, right now it is bearish and the macd is diverging bearishly on the 15m chart and the stocks oversold.

There is little volume right now but I think it has more room to dip so until you see a clear bullish pattern forming on high volume you should probably hold off on buying.

I think it has strong enough support at $2 but it was never at 2.60 so I don't think that will happen soon. However I believe that they will most likely release a statement announcing that they are going to hold a conference call or something like that. The stock will probably rally to the conference call if it stays oversold and in this channel. At that point I will consider gambling all my money.

No because I'm going to continue using a cash account. I will probably add more money so that I can make a single $1,000 trade every day.

>>

plus500 is CFDs, illegal in the US for starters.

You bet on the change in the price, with varying amounts of leverage. Anything from commodities to indexes to stocks to currencies.

robin hood is actual share trading

Don't worry faggots you won't be flagged read this
>>
>>1107532
From their FAQ page.
"If you make four day trades in five trading days, you will be flagged as a pattern day trader for the next 90 days.

Ex. Flagged as a pattern day trader

You make one day trade on Thursday, and two day trades on Friday. You make a fourth day trade on the following Wednesday, flagging you as a pattern day trader starting the next trading day.

While you are a pattern day trader, you will not be allowed to make day trades on days where your account starts the day below $25,000. By default, we prevent you from being flagged as a pattern day trader by preventing you from making your fourth day trade. You can update this setting in the ‘Day Trades’ screen.

If applicable, you’ll be unenrolled from the FDIC-Insured Deposit Program once flagged as a pattern day trader. Robinhood does not promote day trading."

>>1107531
"Robinhood Instant accounts follow pattern day trading rules. We define a day trade as the buying and selling the same stock on the same trading day. Buying a stock, and selling on a different day, is not considered a day trade.

Here are some examples:
Ex. Two day trades.

You make one day trade by buying 100 shares of ABC and then you sell 50 shares of ABC later the same day

The next day you make one day trade by selling 50 shares of ABC and then you buy 200 shares of ABC later the same day.
Ex. Three day trades.

You make two day trades by buying 200 shares of ABC in two orders and then you sell 200 shares of ABC in three separate orders.

The next day you make one day trade by buying 100 shares in two orders and then you sell 200 shares of ABC in one order."

Seems it doesn't count unless you play with the same stock.
>>
>>1107549
I think it still counts. They just use one stock to simplify things.
>>
>>1107549
>Seems it doesn't count unless you play with the same stock.
I guess this is where I was getting a little confused. So apparently if you buy one stock in the morning and sell it in the evening they count that as one trade?
>>
>>1107566
I would assume so.

>>1107554
>We define a day trade as the buying and selling the same stock on the same trading day.

Guess we'll see how it works, though,
>>
>>1107567
Ahh ok I didn't read that part.

I think it's weird that buying 100 shares, selling 50, then selling the other 50 counts as 2 trades.

I always thought a day trade was opening a position, then closing it completely.
>>
>>1107549
But none of that applies with cash right? Like is there a limit with cash trades? Also is instant only for margin or does cash account still apply
>>
>>1107575
Looked at their "account type" part, had something interesting in it.

"We use a limited margin account type offered by our clearing partner to power Robinhood Instant. This allows us to credit your account the exact amount of your stock sale during the three day settlement period. You may learn more about stock settlement here

This is not a traditional margin account. You will not be able to borrow more cash than in your account (leverage) or sell stocks which you do not own (short sell). While traditional margin accounts have the risk of incurring a loss greater than your account balance, we have specifically designed Robinhood Instant to avoid that possibility. That being said, we plan to offer these features-- leverage, shorting, and options-- in the future, but those will require separate upgrade processes."

So it's like margin, but not really.
>>
>>1107576
Cool, so the feature we should've had all along is finally coming
Not bad

I'm almost in the same boat
>ELRC down
>NRZ down
>TD down
>AMTD down
>FTR up

Overall portfolio up 3.56% on the day, if not for my large stake in ELRC, would have been 8-9% (50% is in FTR, 30% in ELRC, 10% in NRZ, 5 and 5 for TD and TD Ameritrade.)

I busted my bosses chops about that. We argue about stocks, he does penny flipping, I do dividends. Told him "Shit, even if you don't want the dividends, FTR is undervalued at this point and cheap enough you could by 5000 shares with your quarterly bonus money and have enough for a new gun." He laughed and laughed, and now I'm laughing and laughing. Feels good man.

>>1108298
Quite honestly, I don't see penny stocks as anything more than something to make a quick buck off of. Holding them is foolish.
I kind of wanted to try making a little something off ASTI, but with it being delisted from NASDAQ, I'm not sure I'll even get the chance anymore.
>>
>>1108331
Yeah I understand that now, I kept holding on thinking it will hit that $1 when I should of sold it when it was at $.25. I got to be more aggressive with that stop loss.
>>
>>1107346
IMO its worth it IF it would change "the narrative" so you got it pretty right. I agree its bullshit that the numbers don't matter, were you in Fitbit?

I mean if the stock is very bearish and can have a good chance to beat estimates it can be a big return. Usually if a stock is already good a decent ER isn't going to do much maybe even go down!

The way is to judge what to think of a company by financials but narrow them down by stuff like sentiment and hype. Also how far the PPS is down vs. the risk of the investment.
>>
>>1108221

The first 1k has always been instant deposit.
You'll start waiting 3 days as soon as you have more than that in your account.
>>
>>1109038
Nah, I've always had to wait 2-3 days for deposits to go in before I could use it.
Do you use a debit card or a credit card?
>>
>>1109038
No, I know people who have to wait 3 days no matter how much they put in. I know about the 1k shit because I hit it, I just don't get why some people don't even get the 1k limit. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with banks.
>>
>>1109051
Hmmm.

Maybe it's because I linked my bank. But literally, every deposit to exactly 1000 was instant for me, but since then I've had to wait.
>>
>>1109060
Oh yeah, I forgot you HAVE to directly link your account.
Yeah, mine is linked too, but I still have to wait.
>>
>>1109060
Does the 1000 ever reset? I hit the limit too and I'm wondering if next month I'll be back to instant because I doubt I'll get rh instant by then.

i got a checking in a credit union so ill see, id like pay pal though. Is it only penny stocks because i know theres like a $1000 limit is that for returns too?
>>
>>1109189
No not just for penny stocks. I believe the $1000 is the limit for instant deposit atm, anything else will require a bit of wait time before buying power is available from your money.
>>
>>1109189
If you're new I suggest you stay away from penny stocks.

>>
>>1108769
Yah I don't like how choppy this market is so I'm probably going to sell my cpxx around 2.4 ~ then get a better entry on the dip
>>
Basically from what I can tell we could see a big pop or a major selloff if the volume increases on CPXX. I think that short term it can be extremely bullish. It has room to run but it could most definitely reverse either way.
>>
>>1109101
The market is fucked right now. I know a few people pulling a lot of investments out just to wait out the current swings.

There was something I was wondering about selling stocks.
I'll be using FREE as an example, but on the Google charts it says it's selling for 4 cents, while on RH the price is 3.74 cents. When you buy and sell, does the price round up or are you getting it for that exact number?
>>
>>1110356
You are getting it the exact number. You should use limit buy anyway instead of market price.
>>
I bought 15 shares of SUNE at about $6 each. Do you guys think I should just sell them and take my loss or hold onto them and hope something good happens?
>>
>>1110482
It's only a loss once you sell, unless it goes the way of ASTI. So if you're confident it won't do that, just wait for the market rebound before you sell. Granted, you might be waiting for quite a while.
>>
>>1110482
I bought at 11, I know that feel. Just wait it out man, solar is still a budding industry and hasn't even scratched the surface of consumer sales yet. Also you only have 15 shares so you might as well hold for the long run. Lose 75 bucks or potentially gain more, seems like a definite hold to me
