In your service agreement i bet it bars you from running a server. If not you could lease the line to a server or 2 but bear in mind that your house is now their work space if they need access to the servers unless you own the hard ware, you gotta pay for power, possibly cooling, ect.

What could've you done with that 10 years ago? Host a small server for a small community, host a website - but of course hardware is just as important.

But 500 mb + internet implies more than average hardware.
